Chisholm Family Tree

This group of Family Tree charts describes the Chisholm family who lived in Kirkcudbrightshire between at least the late 18th century to the second half of the 20th century.

The family were agricultral workers who originated in or around Auchencairn in the parish of Rerrick. In the 20th Century, they were based in the Castle Douglas area.

At some stage, around 1880, some members of the family moved to Whitehaven in Cumberland (now Cumbria) where they worked as miners.

Kirkcudbrightshire or to give it its full title, the Stewartry of Kirkcudbright, is now part of the Scottish district of Dumfries and Galloway.
