Samuel Chisholm and his wife, Margaret Paterson lived in Minnigaff and Rerrick. They had three children: Mary, Alexander and Samuel junior. Samuel was an agricultural labourer, Militia man and railway wagon driver. In 1863, Samuel was killed in an accident while working on the construction of the Perth to Avimore railway line. Margaret Paterson (or Patterson) married James Skimming seven years after Samuel's death.
