John changed his surname from Skimming to McSkimming by 1900.
In 1902 / 1904 he was using MacSkimming when James and Hugh's births were registered.
The Family address on Gordon's Birth Certificate is Millisle Station, Garlieston.
On Gordon's Marriage certificate one of the witnesses was John and his address was Station House, Parton.
John's occupation according to Gordon's marriage certificate was Station Master.
The family left Parton to move to Guthrie in February 1931. (This information came from the label on a clock presented to John from the people of Parton.)
Note on Wife: Margaret Livingston JAMIESON
Margaret was born at Upper Senwick, her middle name, Livingston, appears on the marriage certificate of Jessie and James Callander.
Margaret was said to have died in Borgue while attending the funeral of a relative. I believe that the relative was her nephew Hugh Jamieson Thompson who died in Johnstone, Renfrewshire on 28 Jan 1939 and was buried in Senwick cemetery, Borgue. Margaret's home at the time of her death was Castle Douglas and she is buried in Castle Douglas cemetery.
