Members of this generation of the D'Silva family lived in Calcutta up to about 1923, in Bombay to about 1939, then back in Calcutta betwen 1939 and 1951 and finally in England.

William was the son of Francis D'Silva and Christina Shedden, he was born in Calcutta in 1896. He had three sisters and four half sisters (one of these may have died in infancy).
William was a dental technician and in 1920 he married Florence Simmonds in Calcutta. William and Florence had three sons and two daughters, they lived in Calcutta and Bombay in India and then, after independence, in North London and Surrey in UK.
William died in Surrey in 1980.
Florence was the daughter Samuel Leonard Simmonds and Ellen Charleston, she was born in Calcutta in 1900. She had three brothers and two half brothers
Florence was a seamstress and hotel housekeeper.
Florence died in Surrey in 1991.
William and Florence's daughter, Kathleen D'Silva, had her DNA tested by ancestry.com and several DNA matches have been found on all of the family lines of both her Father and Mother.
