Note on Husband: Martin BURNELL

There is a Martin Byrnell in the Madras Muster Rolls between 1810 and 1815, British Library films L/MIL/124 and 125.

The details of the entries are: Martin Byrnell from Ireland arrived in India 1784 on the ship "Contractor".

in 1810 and 1811 he is in the "Invalids" register and then fom 1812 to 1814 in the "Carnatic European Veteran Battalion". In 1815 he is in the Casualty list having died on 7 August 1815.

I believe that Martin Byrnell and Martin Burnell are the same person.

The rank of "Key Serjeant" and location in 1815 comes from Richard Burnell's baptism certificate.
