The Jamieson family is connected to the McSkimming family through the marriage of Margaret Jamieson and John McSkimming in 1900 at Senwick Park in the parish of Borgue, Kirkcudbrightshire.

It has not been possible to be 100% sure that the line between Michael Jamieson and Hugh Jamieson is correct. However, there are several DNA, location, date and other similarities to persuade me that Hugh is likely to be a son of Michael and Mary.

I am grateful to Elaine Halliday and Mary Jamieson for allowing me to use their research into the earlier generations of the Jamieson family.
